ES MUY IMPORTANTE que la obra empacada sea ligera, y plegable, hemos tenido malas experiencias con las cosas pesadas y frágiles, sobre todo para sacarlas del país. Además no hay mucho presupuesto en general para mandar las cosas por eso es importante que sean FÁCILES de transportar y de montar.
Además de la exposición de El Maíz, está el proyecto de hacer una exposición con el tema del deterioro ambiental, también pueden ir pensando y/o haciendo alguna pieza, para está exposición (aunque todavía no hay fecha ni lugar).
Especificaciones para la obra:
Obra Bidimensional
En esta modalidad el formato individual de las obras presentadas a consideración no deberá exceder 200 cm. por ninguno de sus lados, esto aplica también a dípticos, trípticos o polípticos.
Obra Tridimensional
En esta modalidad el formato individual no deberá exceder los 200 cm en ninguna de sus dimensiones (altura, longitud y espesor).
Las esculturas no deberán exceder los 10 kg de peso.
Video arte
En esta modalidad cada participante podrá enviar hasta tres obras en formato CD, CD-ROM y DVD. La duración de las mismas no deberá exceder los 10 min. en cada caso.
Sobre la selección de las piezas para cada uno de los diferentes espacios
Es importante aclarar que para cada uno de los espacios donde se nos esta invitando a participar existirá un curador que decidirá cuáles son las piezas que participarán, Colectivo Mamaz reunirá todas las imágenes y datos de cada una de las artistas interesadas y se enviará todo por correo electrónico, el jurado examinará y considerará las obras que por su importancia y calidad se exhibirán y así al tener el Colectivo los resultados, se pondrá en comunicación con las artistas seleccionadas por correo electrónico o vía telefónica para organizarse en el siguiente paso que es el envió de la obra.

Cada participante debe enviar su documentación a la dirección oaxmaiz@yahoo.com.
EL correo debe tener como ASUNTO: Nombre del participante.EXPOMAIZ

Cada mail debe contener 4 archivos adjuntos:
1. C.V, una cuartilla máxima. El archivo se debe llamar nombre.CV, Ej.: gonzalezmaria.CV
2. Ficha técnica con: Nombre completo del artista (y en su caso nombre artístico), Título, materiales, dimensiones en cm, fecha y precio. El archivo se debe llamar ficha.

3. Imagen de la pieza completa. Jpg. 300dpi. El archivo se debe llamar nombre.imagen1
Ej.: gonzalezmaria.imagen1
4. Imagen complementaria de la pieza. Jpg. 300dpi. El archivo se debe llamar nombre.imagen.

Si la obra fue seleccionada especificaciones para el embalaje:
Obra bidimensional deberá ir enrollada o plegada. Si va plegada no debe exceder los 120cm en ninguna de sus dimensiones.
Obra tridimensional no debe exceder los 750cm cúbicos
TODA LA OBRA DEBE SER ENTREGADA EMBALADA. EL COLECTIVO NO SE HACE RESPONSABLE POR DAÑOS OCURRIDOS DURANTE EL TRANSPORTE
Especificaciones de Instalación:
La pieza debe ser de fácil instalación, esto será un punto importante a la hora de la curaduría.
Cualquier obra que no respete las especificaciones antes mencionadas será automáticamente descalificada.
El Colectivo Mamaz recibirá solamente obras inéditas, propiedad del autor, realizadas en el período comprendido entre enero del 2008 a la fecha de entrega.
Los resultados se irán dando conforme se vayan acercando las fechas de las diferentes exposiciones, contando con el suficiente tiempo para el envió de la obra.
(Esta es una exposición itinerante, si no participan en Austin, están igualmente invitadas a las próximas fechas)

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE PACKAGED WORK BE LIGHT AND BENDABLE—We have had bad experiences with heavy and fragile pieces, especially when sending them out of the country. Also, there isn’t a large shipping budget, so the pieces need to be EASY to send and hang.
There is also the possibility of creating an exhibition of works related the theme of environmental deterioration. Although a specific date and location hasn’t been established, you can start thinking about/creating an appropriate piece.
Specifications:
2 Dimensions
The format of the piece should not exceed 200 cm on either side. This also applies to diptychs, triptychs etc.
3 Dimensions
The pieces should not exceed 200 cm in any dimension (height, width, or depth). Sculptures should not exceed 10 kilograms.
Videos
Participants can send up to three works in CD, CD-ROM and/or DVD form. The duration of said works must not exceed 10 minutes in each case.
About the selection of pieces for each space:
It is important to clarify that a curator in Austin will decide which pieces will be exhibited. The MAMAZ Collective will gather all the images and information from all of the interested artists, and will send them via email. The jury will examine the pieces and consider them for their importance and quality. Once the results are issued, the collective will notify the selected artists via email or by telephone in order to organize the next step—shipping.
Documentation:
Each participant must mail her proposal to the oaxmaiz@yahoo.com.
The subject must read: Participant name.EXPOMAIZ. For example: gonzalezmaria.EXPOMAIZ.
You must attach four files:
1. Resume- Maximum one page. The file must be titled name.CV. For example: gonzalezmaria.CV.
2. Label with: Artist’s Name, Title, Medium, dimensions in cm, date, and price. The file must be titled “name.ficha.” For example: gonzalezmaria.ficha.
3. Complete image of the piece as a 300dpi jpg. The file must be titled name.imagen1. For example: gonzalezmaria.imagen1.
4. Supplementary image of the piece as a 300dpi jpg, titled name.imagen2. For example: gonzalezmaria.imagen2.
This information must be sent to the oaxmaiz@yahoo.com address by the 3rd of March. Write to the same address for more information.
Two Dimensional pieces must be rolled up or folded. If folded, the package must not exceed 120 cm in any dimension.
Three-dimensional pieces must not exceed 750 cm2 (squared)
ALL PIECES MUST BE PACKAGED. THE COLLECTIVE IS NOT RESPONSABLE FOR DAMAGE CAUSED DURING TRANSPORTATION.
Specifications for Installations:
the piece must be easy to install—this will weigh heavily in the jury’s decisions.
Any piece that does not follow the before mentioned specifications will be disqualified.
The MAMAZ Collective will only receive inedited pieces, property of the artists, elaborated between January 2008 and the call for entry deadline.
Results will be released as the different exhibition times approach—leaving enough time for shipping.
This is an itinerant exhibition. Those who do not participate in Austin are invited to participate in other future shows.
